I'm resolute no resolutions...is that a resolution? Gosh darn it.

I think in terms of the day's resolutions, not the years'.~ Henry Moore

Ahhhh pretty....
This was my first one :)
Christmas and New Year celebrations are done and dusted...which mostly consisted of eating and drinking.  I who originally thought that meat was four of my five food groups is now not so convinced after eating four Christmas dinners. (mmmm meat sweats)

Presents!!!!!
But we indulge we eat loads and drink even more than our kidneys and liver can handle to once again return to 'normality' and recuperate.....Letting off steam from a whole year of eating loads and drinking more than our kidneys and liver can handle by eating loads and...well you get the picture.  This is just what we do.

Getting completely caught up in the commercialism of what is a Western Christmas.  Bah humbug :)  It is also gives us license to behave badly (cue: Xmas parties)  The obligation to be nice to those who we really don't like, we are told that this is the one time of the year (cause that bearded carpenter guy was born)that we should really appreciate and respect one another(cue: family get togethers)and then comes New Year's eve.....

Supersize cocktails love you.
Ahhh blessed New Years eve....

So after being nice to one another and ourselves over Christmas, gift buying, mistletoe and love...we then get really, really drunk, get into fights, snog, screw people we either don't like or don't really know not only disrespecting them but ourselves....then we make New Year's resolutions (like Catholics going to confession) to further torture ourselves.  No drink, diet, no smoking yadda yadda and the list goes on.

NYE dinner at Lalibela

(so businesses can then make even more money out of diet fads, exercise equipment and gym memberships)

Although I did get into the festive spirit (maybe too much :)) and the whole consumerist spirit behind it....(and I loved loved my Christmas day..meat consumption maximum density and presents!!!)I will not be making any New Year's resolutions.  I just don't see the point, I know how easily corruptible I am and I have always believed if you're talking about it, it's cause you're generally not doing it.  Why oh why would you choose to do or not do something that makes you oh so happy, even if it is just a little bit bad for you :)

Bad is fun.

So with Henry's words in mind... today I will try to be good. ;)
