Mind the gap and that amazing homing beacon....and the kindness of strangers.....
So this week and next and maybe/hopefully longer I am going to be in London. I'm trying to still view this as a holiday and behaving like a tourist, taking pics and blogging. I lugged my very heavy suitcase all the way up from the South coast and the universe provided me with free travel all the way to my mates in North London.
By universe I mean a good mate got me to London on her ticket then a very cute Glaswegian boy gave me his one day travel card at Victoria. I saw it as a sign that I was in the right location, my mate poo poo'd this and just thinks it's because I'm little and cute. (her words) Apparently this sort of stuff never happens to her hmmmmmm.
So between doing temp work and doing the whole temp agency registration thing (which is unparalleled fun), I have been meeting up and getting more than a tad drunk with some very good mates in the gorgeous city that is London. This leads me to that amazing skill that I've developed globally of been able to get quite drunk and somehow get home completely unscathed catching various forms of public transport. Unfortunately alongside this talent is the annoying side effect of talking to strangers on above said public transport. Despite what people say about Londoners I haven't as yet had someone say to me 'please don't make me do this'.....like on the NY subway. ;)...this still makes me giggle.
I do love it here and even after all this time I'm still blown away by the architecture, the history and even the people. I do feel like I'm home, now I just need to get a job, oh and a home.
