I leave the US on the 24th...I can't believe how fast 3 months has gone. It still amazes me when I look back over my blogs what I have seen, done and the interesting people I have met.
From the time I landed in NY at the end of April and stayed with Lynne, I've only had the most incredible experiences. I can honestly say there hasn't been one single truly awful moment that comes to mind....embarrassing, sure, cringe worthy, most definitely, immature, more often than I can count.....but never awful.
I know it sounds really hippy but fuck it...I can't thank the universe enough for surrounding me with these amazing people and experiences that I have had on this journey...that is no where near over yet. The generosity and kindness people have shown has been overwhelming. I really can't thank people enough from those who I've spent loads of time with to people who just helped me not get lost or offered fascinating and interesting conversations randomly on various public transport systems I've caught. I just feel really lucky to be on this path and had all these amazing experiences.
I am going to come back to the US, there is so much here I still want to see. Places I just didn't get the chance to visit due to cash and time. I have made new friends who I will definitely have to see again and strengthened old friendships further than I would've thought possible. It's bittersweet indeed.
The thing I love most about travelling....is making new friends and creating unbreakable bonds. The thing I hate most about travelling....is making new friends and having to leave them.
I wish I could put all my greatest friends on one island all together,(it would make my travelling costs way cheaper for one) sounds psycho right? But I don't care, you'd love 'Melissa Island'. Hee hee, sure I'd try to make it a democracy but you all know that the tyrant that is Mel would feel that a despot regime would work far better. Compulsory bacon consumption, predominately meat based production, no fair grounds with rusty screws, lots of vodka and wine based fun and of course the standard fare of offensive and lewd conversation with some dash of surrealism....not forgetting the smattering of art appreciation and fashion guidance all under the umbrella of the non-judgemental eyebrow, evil cackle and cheeky smirk.
Tonight I celebrate my last night here, with the beautiful Jen, the Lovely Leigh and the Gorgeous Rob, and I will try not to cry but if you know me well enough you know I'll be sobbing like you just told me that bacon has become global contraband.

So I land in Australia on the 26th and the blog will continue, although probably/maybe more sporadically as I have to get back to the work grindstone. Just of course to save more money and keep on moving...next stop and blog....Sydney...
