.....I kissed a fish and I liked it. The taste of his not so cherry chapstick....

I started my birthday by sleeping in late having the most massive club sandwich with fries (they do wicked fries in Vancouver) and then off for a little walk around Granville Island.

Granville Island is really nice and reminds me a bit of Fisherman's Wharf in SF, a bit touristy, some nice shops and a great food market.  Then got one of these boats over towards  Stanley Park...then walked back towards Granville Street, checking out some shops and chilling out.

I've been a bit slack of late.....well it was my birthday, give me a break :)  On my birthday I started off solo then got surrounded by a group of people in the bar downstairs from where I'm staying (Cambie) who were also celebrating a birthday.  We then went off to another bar, Ceili's (the only reason I know this is because I have a certificate) I was kind of drunk after a few ciders and maybe a Jaeger bomb or two....

So here I got an honorary Newfie Certificate after I kissed a Cod (yes I used tongue), downed the screech and very drunkenly slurred "Long may your big jib draw".  Apparently I am now an honorary Newfoundlander, rock on!!!  Unfortunately no pictures available..or maybe there is online somewhere...hee hee

Yesterday was recovery day, I dragged myself out of bed at 3 (after watching episodes of Grey's Anatomy...:))in the p.m. and walked around the city for a bit, took some photos of the public library...it's an interesting looking building --->
then met my friend Steph for dinner and one drink then was in bed by half 10...sad but true.

So today I wanted to hire a bike and ride around Stanley Park but it's raining again...so maybe something indoors like the Science Museum...geek and proud! x

Next stop Seattle....
