This week it was back and forth to Brisbane for me....
Caught the bus from the mountains to the nearest train station and have discovered a new Qld. radio station that I love 'all eighties, all the time' hee hee...the station actually played Safety Dance. Do you remember Men Without Hats?
This made the very long bus trip seem to go a lot faster. Enjoyed my few days in Brisbane hanging out with meJulie, drinking too much wine, catching up with her stories and seeing the 'JGirls' again. Then it was back up to Eudlo to hang out in the mountains once again, I do love it up here, with the fresh air and the beautiful scenery and the constant flow of good food (Brad's divine dairy free chocolate cake). It's so wonderful, also been dipping into my creative juices (oo er)and using my hands and parts of my brain to draw stuff, alter and sew stuff in Paula's gorgeous studio.
Then it was back down to Brisbane on the weekend to sort all the stuff I left behind at my parents and have an amazing trip down memory lane, looking at all my old photos, reading some very saucy love letters and being mostly ruthless about getting rid of more materialistic possessions. I just have stuff all around the world now it's getting out of control. It is funny how you accumulate stuff so easily.
Then I had the weekend of a twenty sumtin' without the equal energy...went drinking and dancing with meJulie on Saturday night, where I almost got into a cat fight with some very insecure girls. Julie told me to "leave it, it's not worth it" :) It's so ironic that when your body is at its best (weight wise, perkiness ect.) you're at your most insecure. Then you get older women whose bodies may not be so great, I mean gravity enters, you might've had children, but intensely full of confidence and are just so damn sexy. Confidence is just an incredible and attractive draw card. (more of this in another blog)
Sunday night after an amazing dinner at the Vietnam (mmm prawn meat on sugar cane) I went to an an album launch of another incredibly confident and sexy woman, Ilona Harker and it was pretty amazing, her voice is beautiful and what a wonderful musician and a fabulous entertainer (my fave song 'Wreck You'). She was supported by the Blackbirds who also were incredible, and did a pretty funky cover of Lady Ga Ga's 'Poker Face'.
Came back up the mountains yesterday morning and wishing I could just live here forever....
Regardless of Paula's statement, when I was clearing creeping vines off trees looking for snakes and spiders warily while I did it..."you don't have to worry about the snakes, climbing snakes are never poisonous, what you have to watch for is the inch long, jumping, meat eating ants'.
Oh ok, of course....but I'd take those ants over an ugly insecure, drunk pub slut anyday...
A nature shot for you, cute little froggy...no snake shots as yet...
