Back to the Bush, Beach and Blowhole....

Today went on a mini road trip through the bush....with Ro my wonderful hostess and my good uni mate and her two sons...

Just a short trip south of where I am staying firstly to Yarrunga/Kangaroo Valley and then onto Kiama to see the blow hole (noooo not my mouth) it's a natural rock formation. I have to admit the Australian scenery is just incredible and so distinctly Australian.  I know I've said this before but you have to see it to truly understand what I mean....hint hint...go on... go down under...you'll love it.

It's not just the visual aspect of the bush, the blue skies and the clean beaches.  It's a combination of things including the sounds and the smells it's all encompassing.

When you go to any of these sightseeing type places over here you have to check out the gift shops as well, if only for the amusement factor.  No where else in the world could you purchase lacquered cane toads resplendent in top hats and waistcoats in many humorous poses and costumes, kangaroo scrotum coin purses and various stuffed marsupial type toys (mostly and ironically made in China)...(I promise you, no leg pulling) that cost more than the sausage/chiko roll you just bought in the snack bar.
After a nice drive/day out it was off to visit Ro's parents...I instantly adored her dad (the wonderful man sliced up a huge plate of jamon on our arrival, 'meat' nothing says hello and welcome like it) and it was lovely to chat away to her Ma and see some old baby photos of Ro....hee hee.

Tomorrow it's off to Sydney to see Maddie, another beautiful friend of mine from uni, whose been travelling the world.

Ahhhh... see below for the stuffed albino Wombat....slightly more lively looking than the dead squashed one on it's back that I saw on the side of the road....
