So... I think I've been pretty damn lucky on this trip from being with good friends NY to SF and all the bits and new friends in between. I've met some incredible people, experienced some interesting situations (good, weird, and even more weird but never bad) and seen without question some of the most breath taking scenery ever. It's like, without getting too mushy, tear enducing in a 'damn I'm so lucky' kind of way. I'm loving this path I've chosen to take - it's pretty bloody excellent.
Anyways back to the blog and move away from the emotions, put the feelings down Mel, step back slowly and don't make any sudden moves.
One of the things I consider most lucky about my trip is meeting the locals, this is fab cause you get to see things you wouldn't normally get a chance to.
One end of the spectrum being involved in high speed car chases through the back of the beyond with very passionate but very intoxicated girls and the other being shown things outside of SF by a very efficient, very giving and to be completely honest a damn cute tour guide.

Then a quick drive up to a look out to get some more scenery shots to really bore all my good friends who are definitely going to be given long and drawn out slides shows. Hee hee....wait for it.
Had dinner in a proper American Diner and I'm kind of annoyed I forgot my camera for this, even just to show you the massive Americana food portions.
After a good nights sleep, and my recreation of a traditional English Brekkie for my new mates (no black pudding or bubble I'm afraid), chilling out with a freshly made Mimosa (thanks Leigh)it took some serious motivation to get out so....
Then on to San Jose Flea market, on a baking Californian day. The energy here is incredible. San Jose' is a largely Mexican community and the music, the food and the energy here really reflects this. I really thought it was fab.
This place is massive and they sell everything here that you could possibly imagine; cars, food, clothes, jewellery, oils...I mean everything. It's frenetic. You could spend a whole day here and still not see the whole thing. I got talking to a lady who worked here who told me they're considering closing part of it down to make way for more housing. (Sound familiar Greenwich ladies?) This would be a shame as these sorts of places are really what visiting other cities are all about, different from the normal touristy shite. You get to meet the see, taste, feel and experience the true local flavour.
We walked around here for a few hours and got us some ribs, which I astonishingly didn't make too much mess with, some chilli fries (hello fatty boom boom) and bought me some trinkety stuff.
Also kind of accidently drove past the Egyptian Museum in San Jose', which I'll definitely have to go back to, if the gardens and the building are anything to go by.
Today I was going to go back to Stanford to go to the art museum, but feeling a tad lazy....hee hee so we'll see....and I know after over a week here I really should get off my big old arse to SF city and do some big city stuff.
