.....no there's Fremont, Fish and the all importance of the Nirvana of Seattle

Walked around Freemont today, loved this area, got there by catching my first Seattle bus....did you know the buses in Seattle  are free before 7pm in the city centre....how much does that rock??  Outside of the central area it's $2 for I think like a 4hr pass.  Hello London how much would this be fab!!!

So Freemont I loved, the vintage shops, the art work and sculptures all around, especially the randomness of the Lenin statue and the rocket in the middle of the city....fab,
and the amazing big old troll under the bridge, hanging on to the VW.

From Freemont and with the help of some friendly locals and bus drivers I got to Ballard to check out the locks and the fish ladders....hmmmm.  Unless you're really into locks and fish....I was a bit disapointed, thought I would actually see those little fellas climbing up commando stylie (wearing trousers) fin over fin...if you want to see lock/fish ladder pics, let me know and I'll slip these in :).  I'm happy to oblige.

Then I caught a bus back into town and checked out SAM...which I have to say I was damn lucky with - first Thursday of the month it's free....score!!! So saved myself the much needed $12 and saw four floors of some pretty amazing art, paintings, sculptures and installations. With probably my worst fear depicted below...damn you James Herbert and that book of yours.

They have at SAM at the moment a Kurt Cobain exhibition on the top floor, apparently he was in some 'grunge' band or something??  I should probably mention there was some very cool tribal, anthropology based art...blah blah blah...;)
Also a massive Warhol and Picasso exhibit, which was very cool.  To commemorate this Kurt dude, these very cute tattooed boys were playing and they were pretty damn good. Might just have to buy this C.D. (no not just because they're young, pretty and have tattoos ;))

Now I'm back in my room definitely an early one me thinks, after doing my laundry (well I'm a backpacker, I don't have to be a scummer as well ;)) as I have one more full day of Seattle before I leave on the 5th for Portland.

Are you ready Nadya?

I can't believe I have already been travelling for over a month now, regardless of what my nasty little bank account is telling me.

P.S.....two photos I just had to put in because with my base sense of humour I thought were funny...first a restaurant called Root Table...(if you're Aussie you should get the pun here) and the Lusty Lady that sits directly acroos from SAM ooo er...lucky SAM with the comedic phrases underneath....'clotheing soon' bad spelling and equally bad puns, ahhh bless the sex industry, it'll always sell, regardless.
