Beach...micro climates...walks in the woods....

I've been more than a bit lazy since I arrived in SF....but it's also making me think I'm almost ready to get back to work and get a routine....I know shocking right!!  and a week has gone by and no blog....

Mostly I've been doing stuff locally and have been very lucky to have old friends and made new friends who have been driving me places and showing me around.  Since I had already done the touristy things in SF I don't feel any real strong urge to head out and see all that stuff again and spend loads of dosh.  So I have searching out different stuff around my mate's houses to do, that I can get to with public transport.  Also as every day is sunny you don't have that anxious panic that you're wasting a gorgeous day.

Headed out to Stanford again and walked around the gardens and took pics of the Rodin sculptures (loved, loved, loved the 'Gates of Hell' big shocker hey?) (see above) and cactus gardens...and forgot completely to check to see what opening times were for the gallery there so still haven't been inside.  Checked out the mausoleum of Mr, Mrs and Junior Stanford buried on the university grounds..

So one day I went for a bit of hike here to get me some exercise and practically ran into a deer, who didn't seem remotely intimidated by my sweating bulk :)

Another day I tripped out to Half Moon Bay....this is where San Francisco micro climate just blows me away.  You can leave San Mateo county where it's baking hot dressed in all your summer clothes, then get to the beach 45 minutes away and practically freeze your tits off.

You can actually see the mountains catching and trapping the cold misty air.  This is something you need to remember when you come here.  Something I forgot when I headed with bikini in bag and sunscreen to Ocean Beach near Golden Gate Park.  So I sat on the beach in the mist for a good hour reading my book attempting to block out how damn cold it was in my tiny Summer dress.

I have started reading Frank Meeink's book and so far I have to say pre the expected violent bit, I am pretty impressed....will keep you updated on this.

Another day/night I went out in Redwood City got a good pampering, massage, manicure and pedicure (thanks to Jen) saw a very good band do decent 80's music (yes I danced my drunken ass off, trying to create my very own most pit) covers, drink nice wine in sunshiney weather.  Play some of the best games of pool ever (it's that tipsy peak) and then carry with the help of Leigh a very cute but very drunk boy home.....remember always eat before ordering the 'cheapeast tequila'.  Damn I wish I had photos of that semi-naked hot body running down the street, throwing clothes asunder...;)

Next blog...San Francisco Pride....
