I have finally slept....and it was bliss and I feel mostly human again.
Thursday visited the Statue of Liberty after standing in a queue for an hour and going through a stricter security check than Heathrow airport. I have never seen so many people or a queue so long it was unbelievable....but it was an amazing sight to see. She is a beautiful lady and the colour of her was incredible. So after walking around her and getting what was the smallest and most expensive hot dog I have ever had, got back on the boat and headed back in to central park. The weather has been really great over here for the last couple of days, blue skies and sunshine.
After seeing the big lady, walked along the jogging track in Central Park, which had two incredible views, one being the amazing skyline of New York and the other being the incredibly tight arses of jogging New Yorkers, man you could bounce pennies off those buns. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures (and pennies) of the butts of joggers, but I promise I will remember to do this for next time I'm there.;)
At the end of the day, had dinner at a Mexican restaurant near Union Square where I learnt a valuable lesson, booze is expensive over here and everything adds up so quickly, non-tap water $7, margarita £10 etc etc. So next week you'll get more information on NY free or on a budget because like my mate said you can literally burn money in this city.
After dinner we went to my friends favourite piano bar we're you can get up and sing with the pianist (no I didn't).
I know so many of friends who would've loved to be there and give this a go. I'm personally blessed not only with the complete lack of ability to carry a tune but additionally total tone deafness, but I did dance.
Until I was told to sit down, "it's illegal to dance in this bar" or maybe she just meant my kind of dancing with this ass of mine, 'baby has got back'. Got very very drunk and made our way home, very slowly.
So yesterday chilled out in Central Park and I fell on my ass right in front of the most gorgeous New Yorker I've ever seen.
(reading this back I realise this is an arsed based blog Freud would have a field day)
Ok imagine one of those typical American romcoms where the sun is shining the girl trips glamorously over in front of said hot guy, he comes to her aid reaches out his hand, their eyes meet as he helps her up, instant romance....and the rest is romantic history..
...then imagine if you will the complete opposite where said girl (me) goes down like a 'bag of the proverbial' the guy whose shoes are now splattered with her bitumen based skin and blood looks down at her (more because she's laying across his shoes and he can't step over her) and says "you alright?" Then girl, tries to get up and not show her gusset, embarrassingly mumbles "yeah, tired, hungover"...
...So after the blood stopped flowing, we went to Nougatine which was bloody amazing, the food was incredible and the fish was fresh. After lunch it was off to MOMA to see Marina Abramovic, a very emotive exhibition which you can log on to and watch her in residence. I will definitely have to go back to the MOMA as the place is so expansive and I felt due to just absolute sheer exhaustion I missed so much...so that will be a definate must do thing again...next Friday(free day)... like I said at the beginning I have finally slept and it WAS bliss...
