What I did last week on my Summer Holidays 3. Berkeley, Oakland and Anthropology talks with beautiful friends...

Wow three blogs in a row, here's me up there with all those famous trilogy type writers...hee hee.

So Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I spent in Oakland with the gorgeous Ann her husband and adorable son, Ann is a very good friend from my university days and while she was at her uni classes I chilled out around Berkeley.

Ok I think I have found another travel type addiction...visiting university campuses or is that campi? ;)  You know what I'm going to say here don't you....I loved Berkeley and yes again I am going to Google the said costs for registration and tuition.  I just can't help myself.

The campus was brilliant, huge and again I took loads of pictures which due to space issues you won't have to suffer through. Unless you're my friend then sorry but yeah be prepared for the approaching slide show boredom.

I went to the top of Sather Tower which has the largest clocks in NorthCal..17 feet diameter (interesting but useless fact), I walked around their library reading room and visited their anthropology museum.  I just feel at home on university campuses, I wonder why that is....still looking for that rich benefactor.

I also loved Berkeley centre, it is pretty funky and reminded me a little of Camden (UK ref) or the Valley, pre yuppie invasion aaaggghh (Aussie ref).  With its vintage shops, cafes and outdoor type bars and restaurants.

It was excellent also catching up with a very good friend who you have shared history with, touching base with what's going with each other and having some very interesting and heavy conversations about varying topics (not just anthropology ;)).  This is the thing with great friends, you can be miles apart and have not seen each other for months, sometimes years and everything is the same. Your lives and circumstances can change but at the core you are both the same people, it's familiar and comfortable, I love it and I miss it.  I'm not very good at watching what I have to say and walking on egg shells, if you know me the idea of me monitoring the brain to mouth function is hysterical.  I was told once, that part of brain doesn't exist or is seriously stunted....hmmm.

I'm starting to get homesick for London and my friends, I mean seriously I watched Harry Potter last night and got melancholy at the London scenery....I mean seriously Harry freaking Potter!!

Next week California on an even stricter budget....where did all my money go?
