“Weather is a great bluffer. I guess the same is true of our human society -- things can look dark, then a break shows in the clouds, and all is changed.”

Yesterday, after a tip from the blonde to go to St.Lawrence Markets and get the 'world best' bacon butty...(I've had better :)...City Road in London..what was the name of that place??) I read somewhere that in Toronto they call everything the 'world's best' :)it's just how they roll...ha ha bacon roll...

Post bacon...I went out to the Toronto Islands and am finding it bewildering to be in such a busy city and go to places where this is hardly anybody and the other thing I can't get a handle on is the weather...I keep dressing wrong everytime I go out never quite getting it right...

So Toronto Island were nice, pretty with beaches and park and cycle paths and I hired a bike..they gave me a little girley one with a basket on front.  I rode around the island for an hour and then had me some lunch and headed home..

I've been having pretty quiet nights here in Toronto and haven't yet gone out and got pissed up and stirred up the locals.  I think it's one thing walking around during the day and night but to then get drunk on top of that...hmmmm....although some people would argue I'm way more scary that way and probably less likely to be approached, pissed than sober.

Today I caught the subway out to Main St. then walked down to Woodbine Beach..past this very intersting sign which amused me to no end as I considered the fact that I'm small and in the area.. should I purchase a 'niche' for when I depart my mortal coil to be tucked up in??

Again it was totally quiet, not many people around at all and I'm finding these places tend to sound way better in the tourist books than in reality.  Not that it wasn't a nice looking beach...

So at the beach I met a very cool guy Peter who I got talking to about travelling, music, the Twilight Zone and speed dating amongst many things.  It was great to chat to someone as the inside voices were starting to take over....so had some lunch and then walked around the very groovy shops on Queen.St. near the beach.  -------------------->
I bought another chunky silver ring, cause you know how much I need more silver jewellery...hee hee but other than that I held back on the shop'o'thon.  I'm actually proud of myself that so far I have controlled my huge capitalist consumer habits.  This area reminded me a bit of Half Moon Bay in California, the beach, the ecclectic shops and the laid back atmosphere.

Then it was off home on a cable car (past the Schnitzel Queen;)) back to the city.

I've got into the habit of eating really late..there's a subway and various cafes across the road...(Het they do meatball subs)

Tomorrow, Kensington Markets, China Town and the Toronto Art Gallery..
