So in the last two days I've mostly been chilling out (subtext - lazy) and watching really trashy American TV....so far I've seen Tori and Dean, The House of Bad Girls... and today I've been watching 'Snapped' all very shockingly bad TV, on Oxygen. but so bloody addictive.
It's been very, very hot here the weather is beautiful so I've been chilling in Central Park, reading and watching baseball, avoiding spending cash. After I finish this blog I'll be heading down to Prospect Park in Brooklyn for some more sunshine. So when I was waiting for my friend Lynne I got caught up in a marriage proposal where assorted members of the public were asked to line up at the entrance of the park and hand red roses to a very beautiful red head 'the intended'. It was a very sweet thing to be involved in. Hey what girl doesn't love a bit of romance.
Yesterday, once again in Central Park I watched some baseball games and while I was reading my book, I looked up, upon hearing a noise and realised I was completely surrounded by squirrels, which made me feel more like a big nut than Snow White singing in the forest to be honest.
After escaping with all my fingers and toes intact, I met Lynne after she finished work and we went for a little drink HA!
Something to remember about NY they don't serve 30ml shot measures, so one tends to get pissed quicker than one would in the UK or Oz, (free pouring - I think they call it)so....so one frozen Margarita good, two frozen Margarita - ok, three frozen Margarita bad very, very bad...but the bar was fun - Rodeo Bar - and apparently I was fun. Well we all know I think I'm hysterical, but not so for the man on the NY subway who turned to me when I was chatting away to him about random things and said to me "please stop, I don't want to do this". Every time I think of this today it's made me giggle....between the sweating and the waves of nausea of course. Thank you to my beautiful friend for getting me home safely and not letting me use electrical implements or get near an open flame.
Tomorrow I promise to be more pro-active, my plan is to do these things….
