Niagra to Toronto for the girl from the Land of the Wiggles.....

So yesterday was all about Niagra.
As much as I'd love to bore you by uploading my countless variations of Niagra Falls I will hold back....but a word of warning to my friends and family you will probably be inflicted to this water torture....

At Niagra, I went on the Maid of the Mist and walked down through the Cave of the Winds both recommended must dos.  Both of these tours are under $15 each which is reasonable I think.  In both these tours you get given 'mist macs' to stop you from getting soaked and with the Cave of the Winds you also get these really 'cool' plastic sandals ...seen below.  The food in Niagra is sooooo expensive and not that great and what is with the cheese infatuation???  It's on everything...even salad...  So yeah if you can take your own food, do it.

I crossed over the bridge to the Canada side to take even more pictures of the falls(it's a wider view).  So when I was walking across the bridge there was a parade of sorts with policemen on motorcycles, a bagpipe, drumming band and these big robust looking boys holding a rope.  Guess which picture I'm going to show you? ;) So when I was watching the news later in my room I had one of those 'omg I was there moments' when I saw that I probably had just missed the annual brawny tug of war contest on the bridge.  On the upside these boys look big and manly yes?

Niagra 'NY side' is a very interesting place, it was very quiet and a lot of the houses are boarded up, you can imagine once it would have been quite a busy place but not so much anymore. Most people stay in the Canadian side of Niagra and it's not somewhere you'd roam around in at night to be honest.

Another tip when a taxi driver doesn't turn on the meter 'to do you a deal' do not listen to him he's going to rip you off. Yeah, yeah it's logical but pah I fell for it, my thinking was who would rip off a backpacker.....ha.
.
Got back on the train yesterday afternoon to head to Toronto, when the customs officer saw my passport he said "ahhhh the land of the Wiggles" sorry Ralph you've been superseded.  Arrived at Toronto last night, first impressions...everybody is just so damn friendly.  I find it a little un-nerving but then I'm essentially not 'as' friendly, sure I'll chat but don't think of getting in my personal space without invitation.  Cue: death stare.

So today I'll be out and about to tickle the sides of Toronto or maybe I'll just go straight in for the belly rub...and Celine if I see you I will tell you how I feel about you and how angry you make me.
